Smart faucets in Soheili; a green solution to combat water shortage
In response to climate change and reduced rainfall, the Soheili Tourism Village has switched to using eye-level faucets in the restrooms of its restaurants. This innovative measure, implemented with the support of the village council, has been able to reduce water consumption in these restaurants by 25 percent.
The smart faucets installed in Soheili restaurants work with a sensor system that only turns on water when motion is detected. In addition to significantly saving water consumption, this technology has also contributed to maintaining personal and environmental hygiene.
According to the statistics provided, each restaurant in Soheili saves an average of 10,000 liters of water per month.
The village headman announced that this project was well received by tourists and is being introduced as one of the responsible aspects of this tourism village. They plan to implement this system in other public places in the village in the next phase.
Environmental experts believe that such measures could be a suitable model for other villages in the country, especially in arid and semi-arid regions that face the challenge of water scarcity.
