Astronomy, stars, and navigation have always had a special place in the minds and memories of the people of Hormozgan. In this regard, the native tale of "Soheil and Boheil", which is based on the rising of the star Soheil and the blowing of the Soheili wind, is passed down orally on Qeshm Island. The tale goes that Boheil, the older sister, considers their daughters as the excuse for their separation and suggests sacrificing them. Soheil does not accept, but Boheil kills a cat for her sister and feeds it to Soheil instead of her daughter's meat. Soheil sacrifices her daughter in compensation and invites Boheil to eat it. Soheil learns of her sister's trick and, overcome by his heartache, throws herself into a well. The coolness of the well cools Soheil's fire and turns her into stone. The stone shines and rises into the sky, and at this moment, Soheil's star rises.
